As the oldest sister of Corey Lee Gilger, I thank each and every person who has helped to make Corey's last wish become a reality. Corey, in her young wisdom, saw the stresses and financial burdens that befall families dealing with childhood cancer. The Corey Gilger Foundation (CGF) is determined to carry on Corey's wish to help other children and their families who are experiencing journeys similar to those she and her family encountered. The CGF will provide financial support, good works, prayers and hope in an otherwise seemingly hopeless situation.
Throughout Corey's brief but intense journey, each member of my family not only found ourselves standing right beside Corey, but also found that we each were on our own journeys as well. It would have been easy for any of us to take a different path, one of indifference, however, two things made that impossible: Corey, and the love, compassion and support we received from family, friends, and our community.
We feel blessed to have experienced such a great outpouring of support and love, and it was this blessing that helped guide us through the difficult, yet beautiful, journey. We understand that it is only through the generosity of individuals and corporations that the foundation will be able to continue to provide the financial support needed by many families for years to come. We are grateful to all who have and will continue to support our good works for these families, and who will help bring to life Corey's last wish: to assist children and their families dealing with the heart-wrenching diagnosis of cancer.
Please choose to give your support to keep Corey's memory and wish alive. Whether giving to the foundation monetarily or by volunteering your time, please know that by helping these families, your kindness will be returned to you tenfold.
